American Back Society

The mission of the Society has always been to improve the standard of spinal care and alleviate the suffering of so many. We try to accomplish this by providing state of the art, clinically oriented continuing education in spinal care to the health care community. Our gratification comes from the positive response we have received from our attendees and registrants over these past 25 years.

Asian Pacific Orthopaedic Society

The Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association (APOA) is an organisation of orthopaedic surgeons mainly from the Asia-Pacific region. It was founded as the Western Pacific Orthopaedic Association in 1962 by seven orthopaedic surgeons, meeting in Manila.
Members come from some forty countries from around the world, but mainly from the seventeen Member Chapters. These are Australia, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam Turkey and Sri Lanka.

Australasian Trauma Society

Multidisciplinary trauma society for Australia and New Zealand
Trauma across the spectrum is represented by many clinicians who individually have been members of their particular specialty groups and colleges. The ATS focuses on multidisciplinary trauma management and as such members from many different specialities come together to benefit in the following ways:
* Networking across specialities both in New Zealand and Australia and internationally with colleagues working in the field of trauma from injury prevention through to rehabilitation.
* Access to the official ATS Journal “Injury” This is an international journal which has many ATS members contributing to its well regarded content.
* Opportunities are made available for members to present papers at national and international conferences facilitated by the ATS.
* The ATS Traveling Scholarship is available to members to travel overseas and experience aspects of trauma care including clinical, education, and system development.
* The ATS Executive Committee is consulted by and has access to the Federal Government in relation to issues impacting on trauma care.
* The ATS is represented on the RACS Trauma Verification Committee working with this multidisciplinary group to set standards of trauma management across Australasia.
* Membership of special interest groups/committees is available including Trauma Research and Trauma Nurse Coordinators.
* The ATS has representation on the National Trauma Registry Consortium in partnership with CONROD in Queensland and the RACS.

British Orthopaedic Foot Surgery Society

The British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society is a society of orthopaedic surgeons who have a special interest in surgery of the foot and ankle. Its purposes include
* To encourage interest in foot and ankle surgery among orthopaedic surgeons
* To encourage both basic science and clinical research in foot and ankle surgery
* To contribute to postgraduate training and continuing medical education
* To represent foot and ankle surgeons in the British Orthopaedic Association and to other professional and health-related bodies
* To encourage links with foot and ankle surgeons in other countries

The objectives of the association are to provide a forum for the presentation of basic research, advances in clinical practice and the results of surgical procedures pertaining to orthopaedic sports trauma and to improve the care offered by orthopaedic surgeons to the victims of injuries sustained during sport.

British Orthopaedic Trainees Association

The British Orthopaedic Trainee's Association, BOTA, was set up under the direction of Mr Richard Rawlins in 1987 following a meeting in Oxford when 45 Senior Registrars met at a symposium entitled ‘Planning a career in Orthopaedic Surgery'. It subsequently became affiliated to the British Orthopaedic Association. Since its foundation its membership has increased from the founding 45 to the current level of in the order of over 1000 Specialist Registrars

Canadian Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society COFAS

The COFAS was formed in June of 2002 at the combined meeting of the Canadian and American Orthopaedic Associations. Since then, the COFAS has made considerable progress towards setting up a national study on the outcomes of end stage arthritis of the ankle.
The COFAS is a group of orthopaedic surgeons who aim to promote excellence in clinical foot and ankle care in Canada.
